By Roel Hachmang, founder of Venandi Yachts ~ My first job in yacht building was a real eye opener. I learned so much in a short space of time. But I was ambitious, had my own ideas and wanted to do things my own way. So I quit. For a while, I worked as a draftsman for a window company. Then in the food industry. Venandi 900-yachtFinally, I scraped together enough money and support to set up my own company … Hachmang Maritiem. Being involved with a start-up is really exciting and we worked incredibly hard from Day One to turn Hachmang Maritiem into a successful business.

Once established, we were working with some of Holland’s top yacht-building yards, providing specialist installation and mechanical engineering services. I took huge satisfaction in seeing some of the amazing superyachts and luxury tenders we’d worked on pulling into harbour at glamorous places like Cannes and Monte Carlo.

But somehow, there was still something missing. I wanted to get my ideas out there. To create a new kind of boat that really had my stamp on it. To leave a legacy in the yacht-building industry. Which is why I launched Venandi Yachts in 2017.

I had a clear idea of how I wanted the first Venandi model to look and feel. To realize this, I brought in Guido de Groot, one of the Netherlands’ top yacht designers. We worked closely and collaboratively for several months — it was intense but productive, involving some seriously advanced engineering.

Venandi-900-yachtingIn September 2017, we were proud to launch our very first Venandi boat. It represents everything I love about sailing in terms of cutting-edge design, speed, and pure comfort.

For me, there’s no point in bringing something new to market unless it’s offering something different or better than what’s gone before. That’s why I made sure Venandi offers a fresh take on luxury launches with distinctive, modern design and exquisite craftsmanship.

And this is just the beginning.
